SAN DIEGO — October 26, 2026. A new round of California Arts in Parks funding includes Kumeyaay Arts and Ancestral Lands, an initiative associated with Mission Trails Regional Park. The named project partner is Tipey Joa Native Warriors, one of 33 recipients in the statewide grant program announced October 20 by California State Parks and partner agencies.
The local project
The group and its partners plan cultural arts activities and workshops focused on Kumeyaay history, artistic traditions and relationships with ancestral lands.
This is a forthcoming cultural education effort, not an announcement that a particular exhibition is permanently open today.
When will activities take place?
The current grant term is October 2026 through September 2027. These are planned activities, not completed events. Individual grant amounts and specific dates were not provided for this project in the statewide announcement; residents should check the official grantee directory and project organizer for confirmed schedules, accessible participation opportunities, fees (if any) or registration instructions. The broader program emphasizes free, community-centered art experiences.
