SAN DIEGO — October 26, 2026. One of San Diego’s Halloween attractions continues through this week: the city lists The Haunted Trail of Balboa Park for evenings including Monday October 26 and Tuesday October 27, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. The event occupies a designated area around Balboa Drive and Eighth Drive.
What the attraction includes
San Diego’s special-event listing describes two haunt experiences: an approximately one-mile outdoor trail through wooded areas and a roughly 3,500-square-foot eXperiment Maze, with a new Dark Carnival finale. This is a themed ticketed attraction operated by an event organizer, not a statement that all of Balboa Park closes to the public at night.
The same official event calendar lists recurring evening sessions through the Halloween period. Visitors should check current ticket availability, age guidance, weather decisions, accessibility and admission prices directly with the event organizer. The municipal permit listing confirms event dates and use of public space but does not specify a general free-admission policy.
Residents driving near Balboa Park should watch for temporary traffic controls around the permitted event area and give pedestrians priority. California58 cannot infer from the city list that every nearby road will be shut.
