San Diego Thanksgiving Day Run for Hope 5K: Balboa Park Start Set for 7:15 a.m.

SAN DIEGO — November 4, 2026. The 25th annual Thanksgiving Day Run for Hope 5K is scheduled for Thursday, November 26, at Balboa Park. The event benefits Father Joe’s Villages’ food services work for people experiencing homelessness.

Start and festival schedule

The official race page lists a 7:15 a.m. race start near Cabrillo Bridge, with a festival planned from 8 to 10 a.m. at Plaza de Panama. Organizers describe competitive timed and untimed walking or jogging categories, with a virtual participation option for people outside San Diego.

A community fundraising event

The organizer says proceeds support Father Joe’s Villages Food Services Program, which serves neighbors facing homelessness. Registration costs depend on the chosen category and date; the official page lists separate options for children and adult participants.

Families should review the event’s course map, registration requirements, transportation information and possible road closures before traveling to Balboa Park. Schedule details may change before Thanksgiving.
