SAN DIEGO — October 26, 2026. Drivers using State Route 94 to connect with several northbound freeways should watch their exact interchange and direction this week. Caltrans has announced two different sets of nighttime connector closures, each with its own time and detour.

The westbound SR-94 connector to northbound I-5 is scheduled to close Sunday through Thursday nights, October 25–29, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for concrete-barrier work. Drivers should continue west on SR-94, exit at 25th Street and continue onto F Street to reach the northbound I-5 entrance.

Separately, the eastbound SR-94 connection toward northbound SR-15 and northbound I-805 is scheduled for overnight closure Sunday and Monday, October 25–26, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for guardrail work. Caltrans directs drivers to exit at Euclid Avenue, turn left and use westbound SR-94 to access the desired northbound connector.

Which drivers are actually affected?

The two closures are not interchangeable. A northbound I-5 driver arriving from westbound SR-94 has a different route from a driver approaching SR-15 or I-805 from eastbound SR-94. Not all ramps are stated to be closed at the same time, and the planned schedule may change.
